So now they are finally here.
After months of work, we’re proud to finally share our new resources with teachers and students. The updated primary school resources have been enhanced and brought bang up to date with fantastic new adverts and examples. And for the first time we are going into secondary schools with resources on social media and advertising - the team, alongside our Expert Panel, has weaved complex and controversial industry debates into a constructive classroom setting.
The resources will help students understand the “What, Why and How?” of advertising and develop strong analytical skills. Older pupils will learn how to be safer online with a greater understand of privacy, over-sharing and data collection as well as ideas on how to make the most of the on-line world.
We know, from the enormous number of downloads in our first week and from the grateful messages we’ve received, that there is a real appetite for students to Get Media Smart.
And the most exciting part? For the first time, Media Smart is running a nationwide competition to find entrepreneurial talent with the creativity, talent and passion to come up with original ideas for advertising and social media - with 'Money Can't Buy' industry prizes.
But don’t worry, we aren’t stopping there. We’ve already begun thinking about how we can produce versions for youth organisations and parents so please feel free to send us any feedback or suggestions you have.
